Class Navi Pro Tools
Privacy Policy
This policy describes the marking-only Class Navi Pro Tools browser extension, including version 1.0.13. Its purpose is to help instructors mark and annotate worksheets directly in Class-Navi. It is an independent extension, not affiliated with or endorsed by Kumon.
1. Information the extension accesses and uses
On the Class-Navi website, the extension interacts with the active worksheet, question-marking state, and annotation data already available in your signed-in Class-Navi session. It uses this information to display marking controls, apply the grading actions you choose, and add or remove typed comments and drawings.
Worksheet information and text you enter are processed in the browser to perform these actions. The extension does not create a separate developer-hosted copy of student records, worksheets, grades, or comments. It does not collect Class-Navi passwords or send Class-Navi login credentials to the developer.
2. Locally stored preferences
The extension saves these preferences in your browser's local storage for the Class-Navi website:
- Whether to keep a drawing or comment tool active.
- Your saved common-feedback phrases, up to 15.
- Toolbar label/icon mode and toolbar position.
- Your customized keyboard shortcuts.
The preference record is named qs-grading-preferences-v1. These preferences are not sent to the developer or centrally synchronized by the extension. Grades and student records are not written to this preference record. If you put personal information in a saved phrase, that text will also be stored locally; avoid putting student names or other sensitive information in reusable phrases.
3. Saving, transmission, and third parties
Marking and annotation changes remain drafts until you use Class-Navi's native Save function. Class-Navi handles the saving and storage of those changes through its own service and your existing session. That service's privacy practices are governed by its own policies, not this policy.
The marking-only extension does not transmit user data to a developer-operated server, advertising service, analytics provider, or AI service. It does not include a separate account system, Stripe payment integration, advertising, or usage-tracking analytics.
This privacy-policy page and its public support repository are hosted by GitHub. Visiting this page or using GitHub support is separate from using the extension. GitHub may process visitor technical information and information you submit according to the GitHub General Privacy Statement.
4. Limited use and sharing
Worksheet access is used only to provide the extension's marking and annotation functionality. The developer does not sell worksheet or student data, share it for advertising, use it for creditworthiness decisions, or use it to train AI models. The extension's use and transfer of user data comply with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
5. Retention and your controls
Local tool preferences remain until they are changed or the corresponding site-storage record is removed. Removing the extension does not necessarily remove preferences stored under the Class-Navi website. You can clear them by removing the qs-grading-preferences-v1 local-storage record, or by clearing Class-Navi site data through your browser. Clearing all site data can also sign you out and remove unrelated Class-Navi settings.
You can disable or uninstall the extension to stop its access. Saved worksheet records remain managed by Class-Navi; uninstalling the extension does not delete those records. Contact your Class-Navi service provider or center administrator for requests about records stored in that service.
6. Contact and support submissions
For privacy questions, contact the developer through the public GitHub support issues page. A GitHub account is required to submit an issue.
Issues are public. Do not include student information, worksheet screenshots containing personal data, passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information. If you submit an issue, your GitHub username and the information you choose to post are visible to the developer and the public and are used to respond to your request. GitHub controls the storage and handling of those submissions.
7. Changes to this policy
This page will be updated if the extension's data practices change. Account or subscription billing features, if introduced, will require updated disclosures before release. The effective date above identifies the latest revision.
